Steel pipe inspection typically begins with a visual inspection. Professional technicians use visual inspection or a low-power magnifying glass to check for surface defects such as cracks, scratches, and pits, and measure the pipe diameter and wall thickness to ensure they meet standards. This step quickly screens out obviously substandard products.

Next comes the core non-destructive testing phase. Some high-end projects also require chemical composition analysis to ensure accurate alloy ratios.

Finally, the test data is aggregated into the quality control system. Only steel pipes that pass all tests and meet national or industry standards are marked as qualified and released into circulation.
